Birth Weight and Cerebral Palsy

Below are several research papers and studies which focus on the part that birth weight plays in the development of cerebral palsy.

The chances for both cerebral palsy and/or perinatal death are increased in babies whose birthweight is lower than normal for their gestational age. Unfortunately, the same can be said for babies whose weight is too high for their gestational age.

Most of the research linked to below explores the relationship between low birth weight and cerebral palsy, since this is more common than high weight births.
